SNAPPER tells the story of an unfinished monster movie and the creative friendship that outlasted it. For more than 30 years, Mike Savino and Mark Veau have expressed their love of films and filmmaking through several independent film releases, dozens of completed screenplays, and a handful of unfinished projects - one of which is explored in greater detail for the very first time in this short documentary. Through interviews with Savino, Veau, and New England special effects monster maker, Scott Andrews, as well as never-before-seen production photographs and raw footage from the film’s short-lived production (footage sourced from a variety of archival formats) SNAPPER is an intimate look at the DIY process of garage cinema. The documentary also seeks to shine a light on the small yet dedicated New England filmmaking scene of the early 1990s.
This documentary short film was written, produced, and directed by John Campopiano (Co-writer and producer of CK's GEORGIE as well as a producer on Icon: The Robert Englund Story.)
